If you are a new patient at Ferdos Family Dental, welcome! We are excited to meet you and your family! We realize that visiting a new dental office may seem intimidating and that’s why we do our best to make you feel right at home! When you arrive, you will be greeted by one of our friendly team members who will gather your information and ask you to fill out some paperwork. This information allows us to take a close look at your medical and dental history.
Your first dental visit gives us the opportunity to get to know each other. We want our patients to feel comfortable and relaxed at the dentist. We feel that this starts with a trusting relationship that develops with our patients from the very first visit. Your first appointment with us will be slightly longer than a typical cleaning and exam because we like to take the time to get to know you. We will discuss your past dental experience, your main concern for visiting our office, and your overall goal for your teeth and smile.
We will take all the necessary x-rays and photos so that our doctors can complete a thorough exam of your teeth, gums, and jaw. We will also complete an oral cancer screening on the tongue, cheeks, throat, TMJ, and neck which we will repeat at each dental cleaning. After your exam, our doctors will go over your x-rays and photos and discuss with you any treatment that is recommended. Feel free to ask any questions you may have so that you can be informed and involved about your current dental health. This understanding of your dental and oral health will allow you to make educated decisions regarding all of your treatment needs and various treatment options. We work together to develop a customized treatment plan that works for you! This collaborative team approach is vital to ensuring the most positive dental experience possible in a relaxing and comfortable environment.
After your exam, our friendly and gentle hygienist will clean your teeth so that you can leave with a fresh and bright smile. All of our new patients also receive a FREE fluoride varnish treatment, compliments of Dr. Mark and Dr. Meg Ferdos. We believe that fluoride therapy is a vital tool in preventing tooth decay and it is recommended for all patients at each recall visit.
